Weather, weather forecast and when to go

As Ireland is close to the path of the gulf stream, the climate of Ireland is mild and placid. The typical weather in Ireland is a mix of mild days, some cloud cover and a few breezy days. Nights are usually cool and crisp.  The western coast is more rainy and windy than the sheltered east coast.

Average annual temperature is about 9°C (between 5 to 15°C). Summer mean daily maximum is about 18 to 20°C and winter mean daily minimum is about 2 to 3°C. The average number of days with rain in Ireland is 220 to 230 days. The old Irish saying: It doesn't rain in the pub!
