Buda Castle - foundations were laid in 13 th century. Now the Buda Castle dominates the town. The Castle houses several museums: the Budapest Historical Museum and the National Gallery. Castle Museum is located in the medieval royal palace. Our tip: Buda Castle Hill houses several large-scale festivals and events (August, September and October).
Danube embankment - don´t miss to walk along the Danube river. It´s breathtaking.
Parliament - neo-Gothic style of turn of the 19 th and 20 th century. The building of Parliament is 268 meters long and is 118 meters wide. The parliament house is 69 meters high. It is one of the most beautiful building in Middle Europe.

Chain Bridge - the oldest bridge in Budapest is very photogenic. There are nice lion bridgeheads. The Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) is the first connection between Pest and Buda. The bridge is 375 meters long and 16 meters wide. The bridge has become a symbol of Hungarian liberty and is one of the landmarks of Budapest.
Matthias Church - is a first parish church built in 13th century. Do not miss to visit St. Stephen Chapel and see replicas of the Hungarian Royal Crown.
Fisherman´s Bastion - are you looking for a panoramatic views? You are here already. From this decorative bastion designed by architect Frigyes Schulek you can see Parliament, St. Stephen Basilica, bridges and churches.
The Citadel on Gellért hill - a popular place for walking. Except a former fortress you can see the Liberty Statue and lovely parks.
St. Stephen Basilica is the largest church in Budapest. Locally is known as Szent Instván Bazilika. The biggest attraction of the Basilica is Hungary's most sacred treasure, St Stephen's mummified right hand, the Szent Jobb (Holy Right Hand). The largest bell of the country tolls in the right tower. It weighs 9 tons. Towers are 86 meters high. There is the possibility to enter to the left tower and enjoy a panoramic view of Budapest from the second floor. Basilica is open every day.
The Great Synagogue - is one of the biggest synagogues in the world. This Jewish monument is located in Dohány Utca.
The National Theater
Opera House - State Opera House in the Andrássy Utca is one of the attraction of this boulevard. Andrássy Street connects the inner city with Heroes' Square and City Park.
Memento Park - Statue Park - main goal of the park is to remind people of how great and powerful the Soviet system was during the communist regime.
