The climate of Crete is pleasant and mild. Exceptions are the hot summers. Temperatures on land reached record levels above 40 degrees Celsius during the summer.

High temperatures during August are not uncommon, therefore, for sensitive people, it is better to come at a time from May to June or even from September to October.

Crete
Heraklion - is the largest city of the island Crete. Heraklion (localy called Iraklio is a capital city of Crete. The international airport is located next to the city. The top attractions are: Heraklion Archeological Museum and The Venetian fortress of Rocca al Mare in the harbour.
Hersonissos - localy called Limenas Hersonissou (in English - Port of Hersonissos). The advantage of Hersonissos are nice busy beaches and nearby two Water Parks. The other popular attractions are the Hersonissos Aquarium and CretAquarium in Gournes.
Chania - the monastery of Arkadi, The Venetian port. Chania is an amazing place for your holiday. Fine restaurants and tavernas. The Venetian port is enchanting. The evening walking through the old town and around the hill of Kasteli is the unforgetable memory. Chania has an international airport. Except the scheduled flights there are charter flights during the season - April to October.
