Weather and when to go to Australia
Because of the vast territory Australia has several types of climate: tropical, subtropical and mild climate. Australia's climate has become less predictable in recent times.
The four seasons only really exist in the southern half of the country outside of the tropics. Here, you can expect warm summers at the coast with regular, but thanks to brief heat waves the temeprature rises above 40°C. Winters, can be miserable, particularly in Victoria. Tasmania's highlands make for unpredictable weather all year round, although summer is the best time to explore the island's outdoor attractions.
Australia can be visited throughout the year. However, when going into areas closer to the equator and the north-east areas, we will recommend to omit the period from December to March because during this period, there are the greatest heat.
In the coastal tropics there are practically only two seasons. The best time to visit is from April to November. This is typical period with a pleasant temperature during the day and cooler nights. Be aware that in period of November and December you can feel yourselves very uncomfortable because of stifling, near-total humidity.
The best time to visit the south is during the Australian summer (from December to March). It is better to know that prices are higher and beach resorts are more crowded at this period. The best months for visitation of north are from May to October, while in the Central part of Australia from October to November and from March to May.
The hottest months in Australia are therefore December, January and February (average day temperature is almost 32 °C). The coldest months are June, July and August (average day temperature is almost 29 °C). The wet season runs in the north of the country from November to April, but the south has really heaviest rainfalls from June to August.
Australia is a popular destination of sailors, windsurfers and other water sports lovers. The coast, however, there are sharks and deadly poisonous jellyfish. It is appropriate to inform the location of their occurrence and follow the instructions of the patrol.
For nature lovers and especially for lovers of flora is the best season from June to December The most beautiful flowering meadows can be in this period saw the near Perth in southwestern Australia. South of Perth is located Stirling Range National Park, which is sought after by visitors from around the world.
