Weather and when to go
However Jordan is a small country, it has an extraordinary range of climates. During th winter months can be the weather surprisingly cold. Snow in Amman is nothing unusual (even Petra gets some fall). Also the deserts can be freezing, especially at night. The high summer lasts from July to August. The weather in these months is extremely oppressive. It contrasts with the usual mild humid weather of Jordan Valley. Climate creates an airless atmosphere. The daytime highs can reach 36°C. It is also wildly hot in the desert (including Wadi Rum), but this is a dry heat and it is easier to deal with.
The best time to travel to Jordan is during May and early June and between late September and end of October unless you like hot days. These months represents time before and after main tourist season. May, September and October are the months with very pleasant temperatures. You can still go to the Dead Sea during this time. Also you can visit Petra and Aquaba. July and August has very hot and dry climate conditions. However the nights are very pleasant in Amman during the summer months. There is nearly no rain in the summer.
