Weather and when to go

The distinct areas of Morocco has a subtropical climate, predominantly Mediterranean character. The Country however consist from different areas (Atlantic Coast on west, Rif mountains in the North, Atlas Mountains in the inland, Sahara Desert to the south & east) with typical climatic conditions. That make many climates across the country in the time. On the other hand, Morocco is a good destination all year round, to catch the sun, experience the charm of the cities or hiking in the mountains.

The north coast and the Rif mountains have a Mediterranean style climate. Hot and usually continuous sunshine between May and September. Warm and sunny days are changed with rainy periods for the rest of the year.

The Atlantic coast Casablanca sees most rain. The heaviest falls are in the winter. Moving south, the Sahara encroaches closer to the coast. The climate is drier and temperatures are higher. The coast is very mild in winter. The snowfall is not unusual. It can be seen all year round on the peaks of the Atlas mountains.

While the cities can get very hot in the summer months, mid-level altitudes are pleasant and it is a pleasure to stay in the mountains.
